"Healing doesn't mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls your life."
— Akshay Dubey

Meet the Therapist

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about helping adults experience greater clarity, purpose, and peace. Many individuals come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that are difficult to change, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to move forward.

My work is especially focused on helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, and the life transitions that can leave us feeling stuck or disconnected from the life we want to live.

I believe therapy should be more than simply getting through the week. It can be an opportunity to better understand yourself, heal from painful experiences, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. My goal is to provide a space where you feel genuinely heard, supported, and understood, while also feeling encouraged to grow.

Together, we create space to slow down, process what is beneath the surface, and begin building a foundation for lasting change. My approach is grounded in empathy, trust, and authentic connection. I believe healing happens in relationship, and I strive to offer a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported.

Therapeutic Approach

I provide trauma-informed, personalized counseling for adults (18+). Many clients experience emotions such as shame, fear, guilt, self doubt, or emotional exhaustion, all of which can make life feel heavy and difficult to navigate.

Through evidence based therapy and compassionate support, we work toward increased balance, clarity, confidence, and emotional well being. I tailor therapy to each individual, recognizing that every person's story, experiences, and goals are unique.

I draw from approaches including:

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness-based approaches

  • Somatic techniques and nervous system regulation

  • Attachment-focused approaches

  • Polyvagal-informed interventions

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Inner child work

Credentials

MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling – University of the Cumberlands

MA in Addiction Counseling – University of the Cumberlands

BS in Psychology – Texas A&M University

In addition to private practice, I have worked in dual diagnosis treatment centers and inpatient psychiatric settings. These experiences deepened my understanding of mental health and the complexity of the challenges individuals face, while reinforcing my belief in the possibility of meaningful, lasting change.

Beyond the Office

When I am not in the counseling office, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, and finding opportunities to recharge outdoors. My faith and family are important parts of my life and continue to shape the values that guide both my personal life and my work as a therapist.

I have a deep appreciation for the simple things in life and the small moments that remind us there is still hope, joy, and beauty to be found, even during difficult seasons.

Christian Counseling (Optional)

At Healing 180 Counseling, my goal is to support emotional, mental, and spiritual well being. For those who desire it, Christian counseling can be integrated into the therapeutic process in a way that aligns with your beliefs, values, and goals.

Faith integration is always optional, and your preferences are fully respected. You do not need to hold any particular belief to receive compassionate, high quality care. Whether your faith is central to your life or something you are still exploring, you will be met with empathy, understanding, and respect.

If this feels like the kind of support you’ve been looking for, I welcome you to reach out.
