FAQS
We know that starting something new—whether it’s counseling or coaching—can come with questions. At Healing 180, services are always personalized to your needs, values, and goals. Whether you're seeking emotional support, personal growth, or faith-based guidance, we’re here to meet you where you are and walk with you as you take your next step. Below are answers to some of the most common questions to help you feel more informed and at ease as you begin your journey.
What’s the difference between counseling and coaching?
Counseling focuses on healing emotional wounds, navigating mental health concerns, and working through the past with the help of a licensed therapist. Coaching is forward-focused—designed to help you gain clarity, set goals, and take intentional steps toward the life you feel called to live. While therapy helps you process where you've been, coaching helps you move toward where you want to go.
Do I have to be a Christian to receive services?
No. Services at Healing 180 are open to everyone, regardless of faith background. While faith-based support is available for those who desire it, all services are grounded in compassion, professionalism, and respect for each individual’s beliefs, background, and goals. Your care will always be tailored to what’s meaningful and helpful to you.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes—for counseling services only. The following insurance plans are currently accepted:
-
Aetna
-
UnitedHealthcare
-
Optum
-
UMR
For counseling, coverage and costs will vary depending on the specific plan and may be subject to a copay or deductible. Clients are encouraged to verify mental health benefits directly with their insurance provider to understand coverage details. Please note: Medicaid, Medicare, and out-of-network benefits are not accepted.
Coaching services are not covered by insurance, as they are non-clinical and not considered medical care.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Appointments can be scheduled online or by reaching out directly through the contact page. After submitting your request, you’ll receive a follow-up to confirm availability and next steps.
What should I expect during my first session?
The first session is a time to get to know you—your goals, concerns, and what you're hoping to gain from counseling or coaching. It’s a relaxed, supportive conversation where we’ll explore how we can best work together and determine the right path forward.
How long are sessions, and how often do I need to attend?
Sessions typically last 50 minutes. Frequency depends on your goals and needs—some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others may meet biweekly or as needed. This will be discussed and tailored to your preferences.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee, as insurance does not cover missed appointments.
Is what I share kept confidential?
Yes. Information shared in counseling is protected by confidentiality laws and professional ethics. There are a few legal exceptions (such as risk of harm or abuse), which will be explained during your first session. Coaching sessions are also private and treated with care, though they are not subject to the same legal confidentiality standards as therapy.
